Waste & Material Broker Widnes £45,000 – £60,000 (depending on experience) A growing and fast-paced business is seeking an experienced Waste & Material Broker to join their Procurement team based in Widnes. This is a key role for someone with a strong background in the commercial waste sector, particularly within Commercial & Industrial (C&I) supply chains, who can build and manage relationships across a national network to drive revenue and provide compliant, cost-effective waste solutions. The successful candidate will act as the intermediary between waste producers and licensed treatment outlets, managing the disposal, treatment, recycling, and transportation of waste materials. With access to internal haulage capabilities (including walking floor and skip fleet), this is a great opportunity to establish and grow a brokerage network from the ground up. The Candidate:- Proven experience in waste brokerage or a similar role. A strong network of industry contacts within the waste, renewables & recyclables sector Solid understanding of waste legislation, the circular economy, and sustainability. Strong commercial negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills. The ability to assess market opportunities, analyse data, and deliver profitable solutions. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively Duties and Responsibilities:- Identify and secure new waste brokering opportunities across the UK, with a focus on keyregional areas. Source and manage relationships with waste producers and treatment partners. Analyse needs and deliver tailored waste solutions in line with legislation and sustainability practices. Negotiate commercial terms, ensuring optimal pricing and profit margins. Resolve operational issues while coordinating logistics and ensuring smooth service delivery. Monitor and track waste movements and ensure all documentation and reporting is compliant and up to date. Work collaboratively across departments to support business growth. Provide regular performance reports to both internal and external stakeholders. Line manage and support the development of a small brokering team, as required.
