Job Description
A dynamic and prestigious professional services company based in the heart of the City of London are seeking a talented Global Independence Manager to join their friendly team. This multifaceted position offers an exceptional opportunity for an experienced professional to work with offices around the world to support ethics and Independence initiatives. The successful candidate will possess a background in external audit for an accounting firm and be looking to take the step into a Manager level position providing a good work / life balance.
The main focus of the role will include:
- Oversight of day-to-day operations of the Global Independence Team
- Follow-up on any significant matters identified in relation to global independence compliance
- Reporting on outcomes of operational monitoring and other BAU activities
- Developing and delivering relevant training and guidance for the global offices
- Developing and implementing Team’s procedures for Operational Support for the new global compliance system that has been launched
- Supporting the development of network policies and procedures
- Monitors system logs, SIEM tools and network traffic for unusual or suspicious activity. Interprets such activity and makes recommendations for resolution
- Participating in monitoring activities related to Independence compliance
To succeed in this role, the individual will need:
- 4+ years’ experience working in external audit or within an independence compliance team at a public accounting network
- Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal)
- To be a Qualified accountant with audit experience or a background in applying ethical standards or regulatory frameworks
- Knowledge of the IESBA code of ethics
- Familiarity with an accounting firm’s entity management system preferably at a Big Four accounting firm
- An ability to quickly foster effective working relationships across various cultures
- A Collaborative mindset in solving problems and excellent team player
- Excellent verbal and written English skills to explain complex matters in an understandable manner
- Experience in tracking, handling and following up on large amounts of data
- Excellent Excel skills for analysing data and monitoring progression of activities
