Job Description

Procurement Manager – Commodities

Location: Central London, Hybrid – 2 days on site, rest from home

Salary: £60,000 – £75,000 + package

Type: Full-time, Permanent

We’re looking for an experienced Procurement Manager – Ingredients to take ownership of a key category within a well-known food business. This is a broad and strategic role, managing the end-to-end procurement of raw materials and working closely with stakeholders across the Group to find efficiencies, reduce risk, and support innovation.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Managing ingredient category procurement across UK sites – ensuring continuity, quality, and cost efficiency.
  • Developing and delivering robust category strategies for commodity buying.
  • Leading risk management across the supply chain – spotting issues before they arise.
  • Working hand-in-hand with NPD to drive innovation and value engineering.
  • Delivering savings through data-led decision making and smart timing of material cover.
  • Owning supplier relationships – ensuring OTIF delivery and long-term collaboration.
  • Improving supply planning and reporting with internal teams including planning, bakeries and finance.
  • Reporting on buying variances and improving supplier performance reporting.
  • Managing SAP systems including contract and PO management.
  • Supporting on Group-wide initiatives and ad hoc projects.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Minimum 4 years’ procurement experience – ideally in food manufacturing or commodities.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a proven track record of managing complex supplier relationships.
  • Resilient and tenacious – thrives in fast-paced environments and under pressure.
  • Excellent Excel skills and analytical mindset.
  • Great communicator – confident handling challenging situations.
  • Organised, detail-focused, and proactive.
  • Comfortable with SAP and MS Office systems.
