Job Title: Accounting Clerk

Job Summary:
Diamond Search Recruitment are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our brand new client based in Horsham. This role is essential in ensuring accurate financial records and supporting smooth financial operations across our growing business. The ideal candidate will be super proficient in Sage 50. This is an essential requirement for the role as one of the initial projects will be to help us complete our full transition to Sage 50 from our legacy systems. You will need to have a good understanding of accounting procedures in respect of preparation of VAT and year-end returns and a willingness to learn within a technical and manufacturing-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform day-to-day accounting functions including accounts payable and receivable, invoice processing, expense reporting, and bank reconciliations
- Match purchase orders with supplier invoices and resolve any discrepancies
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor and customer records
- Assist with inventory cost tracking, job costing, and reporting related to component manufacturing and supply
- Post journal entries and assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Support internal and external audits with required documentation
- Collaborate with the wider team to ensure accurate and timely financial data
- Perform administrative tasks including scanning, filing, and data entry
- Assist the team with ad hoc projects and reporting as required
Qualifications:
- Essential – Expert in Sage 50
- Minimum 1 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skills
