Brook Street (UK) Ltd is recruiting a Senior Clerical Officer for our Public Sector client, Education Authority Northern Ireland, Dundonald Office.
As a Senior Clerical Officer in the Transport Administration Department, you will provide advice and assistance to Education Authority officers, customers, the public, and other professionals under the guidance of the Programme Manager.
You will offer administrative support for the daily operations and staff.
You should be proficient in MS Office packages such as Excel, Outlook, and Word, confident in using spreadsheets and databases, and capable of performing typing and word-processing duties.
- Have the equivalent of five GCSEs at grade C or above and at least one year of administrative experience in an office environment.
- Possess good customer service skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Be a good team player with the ability to work independently.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support across all aspects of the programme, utilizing IT equipment including word processing, databases, spreadsheets, email, fax, intranet, and internet.
- Answer calls and queries from customers and clients, accurately recording conversations and escalating issues as needed.
- Assist in collecting factual data and statistical information from various sources to support officers within the service.
- Prepare correspondence, minutes, notes, and other clerical tasks as directed by the programme manager.
- Respond tactfully and diplomatically to queries, issues, and problems within the section in the absence of the programme manager.
- Order and monitor supplies and manage office requisitions and stakeholder diaries.
- Maintain efficient recording and filing systems as directed.
- Delegate tasks to the office team when senior management is absent.

The pay rate is £14.53 per hour, with a 36-hour workweek, Monday to Friday.
