Our Counter Terrorism Borders Officers are at the front line of protecting national security from threats posed by terrorism, serious and organised crime at borders and ports of Hampshire. Borders Officers are tasked to manage the known and unknown threats posed by individuals and groups seeking to travel across borders in furtherance of terrorism and serious organised crime.

This role is intrinsic to the UK Counter Terrorism Strategy and supporting the British Intelligence Services in mitigating the threat to UK interests at home and abroad.

We welcome applications from substantive Sergeants to join our team. You will join our Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTPSE) Border Policing Team and supervise a team of borders officers. You will work closely with our partners, gathering and supervising the submission of quality intelligence in relation to terrorism, extremism and serious and organised crime.

To be successful in this role you will be inquisitive and outward looking. You must possess strong communication skills, be able to generate high quality, detailed reports, have experience of collaborating with partners and stakeholders, be able to evidence experience of strong leadership where you have enabled others to perform effectively with high ethical standards and have demonstrable experience of understanding root causes to take action and make informed decisions in time critical situations.

Please note that this role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you may be required to travel for business purposes mainly across the south east region and occasionally throughout the UK. Therefore, the successful candidate will require a full UK driving licence. The role also holds a shift pattern, please ask our recruitment team for more information.

Due to the nature of our work, security is of paramount importance to us and therefore it will be necessary for the successful candidate to obtain and maintain vetting level DV together with a number of enhanced security checks. In order to achieve this, you must be a British National and have resided in the UK for the past ten years. Exemptions may apply for overseas or other diplomatic service (with HM Government), and studying abroad.

You can find more information about security vetting here.
