Pride Bodies Ltd., a Wabtec Company in Cambridge, Ontario, offers custom design and truck-body manufacturing and upfitting of utility, service, construction, railway and other custom truck bodies. Our environmentally-friendly truck bodies are researched, designed and customized to our customers’ satisfaction.

Who will you be working with?

As a member of the team at Pride Bodies Ltd., you will be working daily in the Assembly Department with the Assembly Supervisor and a group of approximately 23 other Assemblers.

What do we want to know about you?

  • High School/GED diploma preferred;
  • Able to maintain regular and reliable attendance;
  • Be dedicated, dependable and capable of maintaining the highest quality of workmanship;
  • Able to work safely at all times, checking for hazards before starting any task;
  • Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude;
  • Have excellent hand/eye co-ordination;
  • Stamina and strength to perform manual labour;
  • Able to read and understand engineering drawings and hydraulic schematics;
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of mobile hydraulic systems and electrical practices;
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Have in-depth knowledge of automotive electrical systems and mobile hydraulic systems and be able to read electrical and hydraulic schematics;
  • Be capable of connecting aftermarket electrical accessories to various chassis’;
  • Have experience with vehicle-mounted equipment particularly with the operation of and installation of hydraulic/electric cranes, air compressors and service bodies;
  • Be familiar with the various fasteners used for installation of above equipment onto automotive vehicles;
  • Possess own tools to perform duties.

What will your typical day look like?

  • Understand instructions and carry them out efficiently within the given deadline;
  • Apply safe automotive/manufacturing work practices;
  • Read and understand shop drawings to enable independent work;
  • Use basic hand tools to perform tasks;
  • Troubleshoot problems and take corrective action;
  • Test parts and systems to ensure that they work properly;
  • Follow checklists to ensure that all critical parts are examined;
  • Take all work order packages from start to finish with minimal assistance in a timely manner.

You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.

Safety glasses, steel-toed safety shoes and hearing protection must be worn for the entirety of the shift.
