Job Description

Assistant Quantity Surveyor

My client is a medium sized main contractor who work on a wide range of projects: Residential, Healthcare, Education etc – ranging up to £10m.

If you are a junior level QS who wishes to gain exposure and be fast tracked to running your own small projects, this opportunity would be perfect for you.

What you will be doing

  • Preparing trade scope and works
  • Collation and issue of subcontract tenders
  • Prepare subcontractors appointment and proposal documents
  • Preparing subcontract documentation for signing by both parties in accordance with BH's Call Off Contract procedure.
  • Certifying subcontractor payments
  • Assessing variations with subcontractor
  • Preparing final account with subcontractors
  • Assisting with Surveyors' monthly cost reports
  • Attending subcontractor progress meetings as required
  • Assisting in production of contractual letters to subcontractors when requested
  • Assisting Project team with financial implications of site progress decisions
  • Measurement of elements incorporated into designs to establish value and extent of works

Requirements

  • At least 1+ years experience working within a QS position in the UK
  • An excellent approach to work and professional outlook on the construction industry
  • Main contractor/developer experience desired but not essential
  • Strong references
  • Computer literate
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Solid commercial acumen
  • Educated to a degree level or equivalent (BSc Quantity Surveying preferred)
