Here at Basil Fry (part of the Jensten Group), we are seeking a motivated Account Handler to join our friendly and client-focused Commercial team.
Since the company was founded in 1970, Basil Fry has developed in-depth knowledge of the removals, storage, and self-storage industries. Over fifty years of trading, our expertise has enabled us to create a broad range of specialist insurance solutions, in-house claims teams, and market-leading risk management services.
Working in a team of approximately 20 within a wider office of 45, you will be based in our modern Leatherhead office, which is within walking distance from the station and bus routes. Initially working full-time in the office, a blend of office and home working will be available after training.
Key objectives & responsibilities:
- Working with your Account Executive to offer and present insurance solutions, including policies and risk management services.
- Handling renewals, mid-term adjustments, and new business by assessing risk and claims information, obtaining additional information from clients, and liaising with insurers.
- Providing renewal quotations promptly and following up to achieve profitable renewal retention and growth within set timescales.
- Developing effective relationships with clients and analyzing their needs to develop solutions via phone and email.
- Responding promptly to client queries and ensuring all communications are accurately recorded.
- Ensuring compliance with local procedures, customer service standards, and external regulations such as FCA.
About you:
As a Commercial Account Handler, you should have excellent communication and written skills with a keen eye for detail. Experience in insurance is preferred but not essential; other professional office experience will be considered.
You will also have:
- Experience in a professional office environment
- Understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- A genuine interest in developing a career in insurance/broking
- A desire to work towards CII qualifications (not essential)
- Experience with Acturis (not essential)
