Pastry Sous Chef (4 days on, 3 days off)
We are currently seeking a skilled and passionate Pastry Sous Chef to join our senior culinary team at Cliveden House. This integral role involves working closely with the Executive Head Chef and Head Chef to create exceptional desserts and pastries, maintaining the highest standards of quality and presentation. We are looking for an individual with strong pastry expertise, creative flair, and a commitment to excellence at Cliveden House.
Our Ideal Candidate Should
- Possess extensive experience in pastry arts, preferably within a high-end restaurant or luxury hotel
- Assist the Executive Head Chef & Head Chef in overseeing all pastry kitchen operations, ensuring exceptional quality and consistency
- Embrace a hands-on approach, actively participating in the creation and presentation of pastries, desserts, and baked goods
- Display strong leadership and communication skills, effectively managing and mentoring junior pastry team members
- Demonstrate creativity and innovation in developing new pastry recipes and menu items
- Show a commitment to maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards in the pastry kitchen
- Be adaptable and able to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Exhibit a passion for pastry arts and a dedication to delivering memorable culinary experiences for guests at Cliveden House.

Cliveden’s story is one of over 350 years of powerful personalities, debaucherous parties and scandalous affairs. Built in 1666 by the 2nd Duke of Buckingham, as a gift to his mistress, Cliveden House has remained a pinnacle of intrigue and glamour throughout its illustrious history. The Grade I listed stately home retains much of the grandeur from its days as a private house, but this is mixed with an approachable and open welcome that instantly puts you at ease. Set in 376 acres of National Trust grounds and a short distance from London, Cliveden remains an extraordinary 5 star hotel that has to be experienced.
