Purpose of the Role:

As the Ecommerce Merchandiser, your primary purpose is to drive sales and margin growth through effective onsite product merchandising. Collaborating closely with the Buying, Merchandising, Marketing and Photography Teams, you will lead initiatives to present our products online in the most effective way and optimise product categories and on-site search, product placement and personalised recommendations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working with our Buying and Merchandising teams to plan the roadmap for new products onto site and ensure that products’ features and benefits are presented in the best way possible.
  • Creating and optimising new product categories to support the sale of new products.
  • Categorising new products to ensure maximum visibility and findability across the site.
  • Managing filters and balance factors to merchandise pages to maximise overall sales and margin opportunities.
  • Managing on-site search and product recommendations to maximise conversion and AOV.
  • Reporting on product, category and brand performance and presenting to the wider business.
  • Support the SEO strategy by implementing SEO recommendations across products and categories.
  • Be involved in the A/B testing and optimisation strategy.
  • Constantly looking for ways to improve the customer journey through analytics in GA4 and Contentsquare.
  • Carry out regular site walks with the Ecommerce Executive to identify any issues or opportunities.
  • Keep the merchandising plan up to date and communicate to the Marketing teams to ensure the marketing activities are in line with stock deliveries.
  • Attend the content meeting and bring suggestions based on intake; ensuring pages are merchandised accordingly.
  • Working with the Ecommerce Photography Team to ensure all product photography is uploaded and consistent.
  • Overseeing the Web Shoot List & ensuring all new products are setup correctly; from product descriptions to images, features & benefits, complete the look & mix & match logic.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

Technical:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Google Analytics and the principles of effective A/B testing.
  • Experience in applying analytical skills to make and influence commercial decisions.
  • Knowledge of customer needs and user experience.
  • Understanding of how user experience aligns with delivering business outcomes.
  • Experience of working with Bloomreach and Tableau would be an advantage.
