The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an EC&I Designer to join a growing engineering team based in Birchwood, Warrington.

Your duties and responsibilities will be

  • Deliver EC&I engineering design solutions to meet cost, schedule, and quality objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, customer, and internal design standards.
  • Manage and coordinate the EC&I team, including reporting on progress and performance.
  • Liaise with other engineering disciplines to ensure coherent and integrated design outputs.
  • Lead or participate in design and engineering reviews.
  • Identify resource requirements and support recruitment for discipline needs.
  • Control design change and ensure effective configuration management.
  • Recognise and address changes in scope, ensuring that appropriate change controls are applied.

You will have the following qualifications & experience

  • Experience in brownfield design, ideally within complex or highly regulated environments (e.g., nuclear, process, energy).
  • Previous experience within a similar EC&I design role is essential.
  • Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status (or working towards) preferred, but all levels of experience will be considered.
  • Proven ability to produce and manage key design documentation, such as reports, calculations, and schedules, to high standards and tight deadlines.
  • Skilled in collaborating with other engineering functions and supporting team members.
  • Familiar with the IET 18th Edition (BS7671).
  • Proficient in relevant CAE tools such as AutoCAD, CAESAR, PDMS (or equivalents).
