Our Farm
We are a family-run farm, proud to have operated a successful farming business since 1923. We farm 900 acres, which is a mix cropped made up of grass, maize and cereals. We have a dairy herd of 700+ followers, who are housed and calved all year round, with their milk supplied to Saputo. We run a fleet of modern John Deere, Fendt, tractors and machines and have a friendly team of 12 across the business.
Your role
We are looking for a Workshop Manager to lead our arable operation, with roles and responsibilities including.
· Carrying out routine servicing, welding and maintenance of machinery and equipment throughout the farm.
· Collaborate with land-based machinery manufacturers on technical issues.
· Ensure that the machinery is checked routinely and is safe to operate.
· Manage the workshop.
· Supporting with tractor driving and relief TMR feeding 5 days a fortnight.
· Collaborating with broader team to support with seasonal requirements – (sprayer, combine or drilling).
· Ensuring that machinery and equipment are ready to be used during seasonal requirements.
· Oversee general estate management, including fencing, yard maintenance and repairs.
· Overseeing the tractor team when the Farm Owner is away.
· Hold a UK Driving Licence
· Have a UK Right to Work
· Have comprehensive experience in operating, servicing and maintaining tractors
· Be competent in all field work.
· Possess a proactive attitude to get the job done correctly and to a high standard
· Be friendly and supportive and work well as part of a team
