Payroll Assistant
Prestwick

Temp-to-Perm | Flexible Hours | Immediate Start | Exciting Period of Transformation
We\’re recruiting on behalf of a leading business in Prestwick going through an exciting period of change – and they need a Payroll Assistant to join their dynamic team immediately.
Working closely with the existing payroll assistant, you\’ll play a vital role in ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on time each month. You\’ll be the go-to for payroll queries, system support, and audits – while making sure everything\’s ticking over with PAYE, pensions, and compliance.
37 hours per week, flexible between 7am – 7pm, Monday to Friday.
Temporary contract with strong potential to go permanent.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and check payroll data to ensure error-free monthly payments
- Liaise with managers, employees and third-party payroll provider
- Handle payroll queries, spot trends, and solve issues quickly
- Support and train managers on the WFM (Dayforce/Ceridian) system
- Manage subcontractor payroll – from onboarding to payment resolution
- Upload and maintain pension data (starters, leavers, enrolments)
- Deliver payroll reports and support internal/external audits
What You\’ll Bring:
- Payroll experience in a busy, high-volume environment
- Knowledge of PAYE, NI, SSP, SMP, and pensions
- Confident using Excel (VLOOKUPs etc.) and HR/Payroll systems (Dayforce a plus)
- Great communication skills – internally and externally
- Strong attention to detail and respect for confidentiality
- Calm under pressure, with the ability to prioritise and multitask
