About the role

We are seeking experienced screenwriting lecturers and industry experts to join our team of film professionals in a vibrant and supportive working environment at MetFilm School Manchester.

You will play a key role in delivering high-quality education to our students, ensuring they acquire the skills and knowledge necessary for a successful career in the industry.

What You’ll Do:

• Design, deliver and lead engaging and comprehensive lessons in Screenwriting

• Contribute towards assessment and the marking of student work, providing constructive feedback

• Stay updated with industry trends and integrate these into the curriculum.

• Mentor and support students, fostering their professional growth.

• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance the course content.

What You’ll Bring:

• A graduate or postgraduate qualification in a film related subject is advantageous but not essential

• A graduate or postgraduate qualification in education is advantageous but not essential.

• Significant teaching experience (at the higher education level is preferred but not essential).

• Significant industry experience as a screenwriter.

• Strong communication and organisational skills.

• A commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.

BIMM provides internal training and professional development for all lecturers, especially those new to teaching. If you already have a graduate or postgraduate qualification then this will be advantageous, but it’s not a barrier.

Contractual Hours:

Freelance, variable hours depending on subject area and student numbers.

There are opportunities for regular teaching from September 2025 as well as cover teaching/deputising and guest lecturing on an ad hoc basis.
