Our OEM Client based in Gaydon, is searching for a Studio Engineer to join their team, Inside IR35. This is a contract position until 31st March 2026.
Umbrella Pay Rate: GBP37.51 per hour.
This position is a key part of the Studio Engineering Team, responsible for preserving design integrity while ensuring it s feasibility.
As a member of the Studio Engineering Team, it typically holds primary responsibility for delivering feasible vehicles.
The role involves leading a vehicle zone through Feasibility Checkpoints from Concept to Production Surfacing handover while ensuring the integrity of the design.
Essential Skills Required:
- A broad understanding of either Interior, Exterior, or both, system types such as Bumper, Exterior trim engineering, Exterior Lighting systems, Occupant & Pedestrian Safety, Closures, Manufacturing & Assembly, Instrument Panel, Console + Door Trim engineering.
- Ability to think creatively to solve 3Dimensional (3D) technical/feasibility issues.
- Demonstrates the ability to think creatively to solve feasibility issues.
- Proficient CAD drafting capability.
- Good communication skills with people of all levels and expertise notably having Design, Product Engineering, Vehicle and Commercial teams.
- People skills – a critical element of the role is the resolution of difficult feasibility issues therefore the ability to work in a cross functional team is key.
- Apply business acumen and a customer driven mind-set to deliver designs.
- Good understanding of the Design Process.
- Proven ability to work to deadlines and prioritise your own workload.
- Microsoft Office applications and notably Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Experience of working within the Design Studio environment
- CATIA V5 & TCE, CATIA V6 / ENOVIA.
Experience and Qualifications Required:
- Extensive experience in Studio Engineering / Design Feasibility, or similar roles such as Concept Engineering, Vehicle Integration / Packaging.
- Proficient CAD drafting capability.
