Prestwick Aircraft Maintenance Ltd (PAML) is one of six heavy aircraft maintenance providers for our client Ryanair, carrying out maintenance on Ryanair’s entire fleet of New Generation Boeing 737-800 series aircraft, at our Hangar facility located at Prestwick International Airport, (PIK) Ayrshire, Scotland.
As we continue to expand operations in our base Maintenance facility located in Prestwick, we are looking for a Nightshift Spray Painter to join our team.
Reports to: Workshop Supervisor
Location: Glasgow Prestwick International Airport
Duties Include:
- Coats surfaces of aircraft with paint, lacquer, epoxy, resin or other material, using brushes, rollers, spray guns and other devices.
- Removes old paint from aircraft, using liquid paint remover and scraper.
- Smoothes surface with sandpaper and steel wool.
- Roughens aluminium surfaces with acid solution and steel wool to ensure paint adheres to surface.
- Masks and covers portions of surfaces not to be painted.
- Paints insignia, letters or numerals on aircraft surface using stencils.
- Maintain a high standard of work in all tasks.
- Complete the appropriate documentation.
- Comply with all company procedures, policies, regulations and MOE.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
- Ensure the company Health and Safety policy is adhered to.
Requirements
- Must have extensive experience in aircraft or component painting.
- Must have experience using media blast paint / corrosion removal equipment.
- Knowledge and use of special tools/equipment required to perform assigned job related tasks is mandatory.
- Excellent spoken and written English is essential.
- Willing to work shifts (including nights).
- Flexible approach to working in a fast changing environment.
