Bridgeman Recruitment Services are looking for an experienced Joiner to carry out high-quality carpentry and joinery work within care home environments. The role involves second fix joinery such as fire door installation, skirting, architraves, and kitchen fitting. The successful candidate must be able to work cleanly and professionally, often in occupied or sensitive environments where safety and discretion are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and maintain fire doors in accordance with safety regulations.

  • Carry out second fix joinery including door frames, architraves, skirting boards, and window boards.

  • Fit kitchens, handrails, wardrobes, and other fixtures to a high standard.

  • Ensure all joinery work meets fire safety and hygiene standards required in care environments.

  • Work around residents and staff respectfully when sites are occupied.

  • Adhere to safeguarding and infection control protocols on site.

  • Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

  • Collaborate with site management and other trades to complete tasks efficiently and safely.

  • Keep work areas clean, tidy, and secure at all times.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in joinery within care homes, healthcare, or similar environments.

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry & Joinery (or equivalent).

  • CSCS card (essential).

  • Experience installing fire doors to BM TRADA or equivalent standards (preferred).

  • Awareness of working in live environments and safeguarding procedures.

  • Own tools and PPE.

  • Excellent attention to detail and quality of finish.

  • Driving licence (desirable).
