Teaching Assistant – Main and Specialist Units Location: Ixworth, Suffolk Salary: £24,404 – £25,183 per annum (FTE), £20,897 – £21,950 per annum (Pro Rata) The school enjoys a positive reputation in the community, as evidenced by the high demand for Year 7 places in September 2024. The students demonstrate respect, motivation and very good behaviour in their learning. The Role * To support students to learn effectively in the classroom following direction from the class teacher. * May invigilate exams and tests. * May assist escorting pupils on educational visits. * May assist with break time supervision including facilitating games and activities. * Communicates with pupils to support learning and development and encourage acceptable behaviour. * Exchanges information with staff and parents/carers. * Work with individuals or small groups of pupils in the classroom under the direct supervision of teaching staff. * Support pupils to understand instructions. * Support independent learning and inclusion of all pupils. * Support the teacher in behaviour management and keeping pupils on task.
