Key Responsibilities of the Massage Therapist:
- Greet clients in a prompt, courteous manner.
- Administer health history and release forms to new clients.
- Evaluate clients\’ health history by asking pertinent questions to identify contraindications.
- Discuss clients\’ needs, expectations, and past massage experiences prior to service.
- Perform various massage modalities, including but not limited to Swedish, Deep Tissue, Sports, Therapeutic, Reflexology, and Shiatsu.
- Provide explanations of massage techniques used.
- Offer suggestions for overall health and well-being post-massage, such as stretches or referrals, noting that therapists cannot prescribe or diagnose.
- Operate salon computer systems to book appointments accurately.
- Answer incoming calls promptly and courteously.
- Maintain a professional, service-oriented demeanor.
- Follow safe work practices.
- Perform other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Possess or obtain a current Massage Therapy License for Texas.
- Hold a certification in Massage Therapy from an accredited college, technical school, or facility, with 3-6 months of related experience or training.
Additional Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a hospitality setting is a plus.
- Specialty training in sports injuries is a plus.
- Reliable attendance is essential.
