Surfline is looking to engage professional service providers with specialized expertise in meteorology or surf forecasting to contribute to our popular surf forecasts and reports in the United Kingdom. Contractors will deliver forecasts and bring expertise to help our team of surf meteorologists ensure that users are provided with the most accurate information to make go/no-go decisions related to surfing.

Scope of services:

  • Work in a project-based, contractor capacity to deliver surf report observation updates.
  • Provide a clear and detailed analysis of current surf conditions and the expected surf and weather conditions for the rest of the day.
  • Relay any camera issues.
  • Provide forecaster notes for future dates.
  • Deliver premium analyses: detailed forecast discussion on how the swell, weather, and wind that will impact the surf in the coming days.

What we are looking for:

  • Familiarity with local coastlines and surf breaks in the UK.
  • A plus for familiarity with other surf zones around the world.
  • Experience in the surf forecasting or meteorology space.
  • Interested contractors must have an independently established business to provide professional services and necessary equipment to fulfill the services and deliverables.
  • A flexible schedule – ability to provide services for deadlines on any day of the week or public holidays.
  • Open timeframe – able to complete services and deliverables for requested projects outside of normal business hours.
