Responsibilities
Nursing Assistant is a person who assists patients with healthcare needs, activities of daily living and provides bedside care—including basic nursing procedures—all under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse (RN).

The range for the role is $20.66 – $21.28 hourly.
Garnet Health System provides a compensation range to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits. When determining a team member’s compensation and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity)
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
Required Certification/Registration
Satisfactory completion of Nursing Assistant/Aide course, with CNA certification preferred for all new hires as of June 1, 2007.
BLS certification and EKG training/competency must be completed prior to being released from unit orientation, must maintain BLS Certification and EKG competency throughout duration of employment.
Must attend hospital crisis training program within 3 months of hire or transfer and annually thereafter.
Physical Requirements
Position will primarily be medium to light work requiring lifting with lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling and reaching are required. Position requires 20% sitting and 80% standing or walking. Expressing or exchanging ideas by spoken and written word is required.
