About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated LGV Sweeper Driverto help maintain the cleanliness and safety of our streets, highways, and other designated areas. This role involves driving and operating a large goods vehicle (LGV) road sweeper and supporting our waste services team as needed across the borough.
Key Responsibilities
Operate LGV sweepers to cleanse assigned areas under the supervision of the Street Cleansing Supervisor.
Safely load and unload waste materials in accordance with legal and safety requirements.
Accurately complete required paperwork and digital records (e.g., job sheets, tachographs).
Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any faults or safety hazards promptly.
Drive responsibly, ensuring full compliance with road safety laws, health and safety regulations, and council policies.
Keep the sweeper and associated equipment clean, tidy, and in good working order.
Operate refuse collection vehicles as required to support service demands.
Maintain a courteous and respectful manner when interacting with the public.
Undertake any other reasonable duties in line with your role, skills, and experience.
About You
We are looking for a committed and customer-focused individual with:
- Valid LGV driving licence (Category C or equivalent)
- Experience operating road sweepers or LGV vehicles preferred.
- Good understanding of health and safety regulations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills and a courteous attitude
