The Scottish Qualifications Authority is Scotland’s national awarding and accreditation body. We oversee thousands of qualifications available in schools, colleges, workplaces, and internationally.

We are seeking a Senior People Advisor to join our People Directorate within the HR Team. The role focuses on fostering our culture and values to support staff engagement, wellbeing, and commitment to SQA\’s success.

The successful candidate will provide professional HR advice and guidance, manage employee relations, oversee employee lifecycle activities, recruitment, HR transactions, projects, and initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategy and delivering excellent customer service.

Key requirements include:

  • Experience in a front-facing HR advisory role, managing complex employee relations cases
  • Strong understanding of employment law and ACAS best practices
  • Ability to facilitate difficult conversations, influence stakeholders, and maintain confidentiality
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and relationship management skills
  • Ability to work independently, demonstrate resilience, and meet deadlines
  • Experience managing change initiatives, including restructures
  • Leadership in HR policy development

Minimum qualifications are SCQF Level 9 (Degree/SVQ 4) and CIPD Level 5 or equivalent, or working towards such qualifications.

This is a permanent position, based in Lowden or Optima, with regular travel between sites.
