An exciting opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established contractor in the South West, working on their South West Water framework.
With over six decades of experience and an excellent reputation, my client has been chosen to support South West Water (SWW) in delivering an exciting programme of works aimed at strengthening and future-proofing the water and wastewater networks across the region.
About you
If you have extensive commercial experience within a contractor environment, please get in touch. You should have demonstrable expertise in managing a variety of contracts, including complex contractual arrangements, and possess significant technical construction knowledge. A strong commercial awareness and experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor are essential.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting commercial leadership by understanding the company’s rights and obligations, helping to maximize profitability and mitigate risks.
- Providing line management to a team of professionals, promoting effective commercial management, and ensuring personnel are trained and competent.
- Building and maintaining long-term relationships with internal and external teams, using negotiation and persuasion skills.
- Assisting in developing budgets and cost controls to achieve financial and project targets.
- Contributing to weekly and monthly cost value reconciliation with accurate and timely data for decision-making.
- Managing cash flow effectively by maximizing income and reducing work-in-progress exposure.
- Identifying, pricing, and negotiating variations to the contract scope per contractual obligations.
- Overseeing subcontract engagement at appropriate rates and terms, ensuring alignment with company procedures and contractual requirements.
