Nocturnal Recruitment Solutions are looking for a Young People Support Worker who can work with young people in a supported living service. The work is based within North/North West London, and the ideal worker will have an extensive background dealing with vulnerable 16-21 year olds who have diverse needs such as challenging behaviour, mental health and emotional needs.

As a Young People Support Worker you will need to have a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care or Residential Childcare or Relevant Bachelors Degree (or Higher) e.g. Social Work, Youth Studies.

Hourly rate: £17-21p/h

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Assess practical and emotional needs, developing care plans that outline the required care and support in a person-centred approach.
  • Ensure risk assessments are actioned as necessary, in line with policies and procedures.
  • Be responsible for the delivery of services to children and young people in the home, in such a way that safeguards and promotes their welfare.
  • Collate data statistics and undertake administrative duties as well as completing daily logs.
  • Work in partnership with other professionals to ensure that the individual gets the support they need.
  • Accompany residents in meetings with other agencies and health professionals as well as liaising with other support workers, social workers, YOs.
  • Work with residents’ families to help them to support the young person in the most effective possible way.
  • Train residents with life skills to enable young people to live to the best of their potentials.
  • Provide emotional and practical support as well as listen to their problems and concerns.
  • Assist with domestic tasks such as cooking, washing and shopping as well advising residents on practical issues.
  • To undertake the role of link worker for one or more young people. This involves providing regular linkwork sessions, supervising/planning the spending of their allowances, taking a lead role in the assessment of the young person and co-ordinating information from a variety of sources, and informing and implementing the Child in Care planning processes.

You Must Have:

  • Hold a valid DBS on the update service (Conducted in the last 12 months).
  • Must have at least 1 year UK experience with young adults/young people within a residential setting.
  • Valid right to work documents.
  • Have a good level of English (written & verbal) skills.
