FINTEC recruit is seeking an R&D Laboratory TestTechnician for our client an international manufacturing business based in Kent, working within a laboratory environment. This is a permanent position, salary negotiable by experience up to circa £35,500 + 5% performance bonus plus additional benefits which include contributory pension, healthcare, income protection, life assurance and more. Working 37.5 hours per week, hybrid WFH 1 or 2 days per week. Working Monday to Friday 09:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with flexibility around start finish times. Some travel involved to other company sites within the UK and Europe.
This role could suit a graduate who has some experience of working within a laboratory environment and has AutoCAD knowledge and able to read technical drawings.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a clean organised laboratory environment, assisting design, setting up and mechanical testing to support product testing and development
- Support the products and drywall systems test plans (acoustics/fire and Structural)
- Contribute to development of drywall systems to optimise raw materials and costs while ensuring quality and performance consistency
- Recording accurate experimental results, maintaining logs and tests and procedures
Skills and Experience required for the R&D Test Technician role:
- Degree in a building, science, or engineering-related field
- Are you knowledgeable and experienced in using AutoCAD
- Hands-on experience of working within a laboratory environment, with a strong understanding of scientific methods and analytical thinking
- Knowledge of AutoCAD for design and interpretation of technical drawings
- Knowledge of plasterboard systems installation and plaster formulations desirable not an essential
- Understanding of fire and acoustic test requirements and attention to detail.
- UK driver’s licence & flexible to travel to other company sites on occasions with the UK & Europe
- Willingness to undertake further training
