Does this sound like you?

You’re a psychological care clinician looking to embed yourself in an organisation that can support you and help you grow, both personally and professionally. You’d love to feel encouraged and appreciated from day one, with a comprehensive onboarding experience and training for your role.

Day to day you’ll benefit from one-to-one clinical and peer supervision and case management alongside a monthly programme to enable your continuous professional development.

It’s important to you that the company you’re part of is impactful and solves real-world problems. You’re looking for an opportunity to be highly visible and absolutely integral to the growth and success of the business.

What you’ll be doing (in a nutshell)

As a member of our EAP team, you’ll provide a 24/7 confidential support service via telephone, virtual and face to face counselling and support, for issues such as depression, anxiety, stress, debt advice and family issues.

In your role, you’ll utilise technology to stay connected to the team environment, but also engage with home-based working, delivering structured counselling to employees across public and private sector organisations.

Day-to-day, you can expect to:

  • Accept and manage referrals in line with agreed service protocols
  • Assess and support individuals with common mental health difficulties, empowering them to self-manage recovery and triaging to internal or external services where appropriate
  • Conduct client-centred assessments to identify goals for change or recovery, alongside robust risk assessment for self-harm or harm to others
  • Provide in-the-moment daily support for clients seeking low-intensity interventions, using counselling skills, psychoeducation and assessment techniques
  • Make informed decisions on the suitability of new referrals, in line with The Employee Resilience Company referral protocols
  • Offer clear information and guidance to clients entering the service, including self-help CBT resources and information on pharmacological treatments, delivered face-to-face, by phone or through digital channels
  • Share relevant, appropriate supporting information with managers or key contacts within client organisations when required
  • Work to an agreed activity contract, balancing client contacts and clinical sessions to minimise waiting times and maintain an accessible service
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary meetings to discuss referrals and ongoing client care
  • Accurately record clinical activity and outcomes using CORE-Net, ensuring data is used to inform clinical decisions and onward referrals
  • Maintain clear, compliant clinical records in line with service protocols
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues to ensure effective step-up and step-down pathways within a stepped-care model
  • Integrate work-related and employment factors into the therapeutic process
  • Always practise from an inclusive, recovery-focused values base that recognises and respects diversity

Roles are available on a full-time or part-time basis (minimum four days per week), with rotational shifts of 8am–4pm and 12pm–8pm. There will also be occasional on-call work, up to a maximum of three occasions per year.

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • A Diploma in Counselling and or Psychotherapy (minimum Level 4)
  • Registered or accredited membership with BACP or a similar professional body (essential)
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • An enhanced DBS check, or willingness for us to process one on your behalf

Bonus points if you bring:

  • Experience within the mental health or EAP sector
  • Experience carrying out psychological assessments using validated assessment tools

Please note, all applicants must be legally entitled to work in the UK and all roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check.
