Job Summary
We seek a high-quality Test Technician to join our team. You will collaborate closely with hardware and software development teams to test products and maintain test systems supporting preproduction testing. You will report to the Hardware Test team lead. Our test team is embedded within the hardware team. We value proactive team players who take ownership of their tasks and seek to improve test solutions. We welcome candidates interested in developing GUI control and test automation skills.
The Team
The Hardware Test team is part of a larger Hardware group responsible for delivering advanced accelerators for machine learning, collaborating with Silicon, Firmware, and Production teams during product development.
Responsibilities and Duties
The successful candidate will work within the Hardware Engineering Team to manually test preproduction designs and help automate testing systems. Responsibilities include testing and debugging high-speed serial links, power supplies, and slower protocols like JTAG, I2C, and I3C, along with low-level PCB debugging.
Develop understanding of Graphcore hardware and software products, applying this knowledge in testing environments. Tasks include:
- Manual testing of high-speed SERDES, PCIe Gen 6, and 112/224Gb PAM4 Ethernet using oscilloscopes, BERTs, and VNAs.
- Designing GUIs for product control in testing environments.
- Developing test systems for Graphcore’s Machine Learning Accelerators at system and board levels.
- Transferring preproduction test knowledge to the production team.
- Improving test coverage.
- Automating tests using Python or LabVIEW.
You will work closely with internal teams and third-party support technicians, ensuring effective communication and contributing to the efficiency of the Hardware Team.
Candidate Profile
- Experience in developing test systems for complex electronics
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Soldering, PCB rework, and wiring loom skills
- Knowledge of LPDDR, PCIe, and Ethernet
- Experience with switch-mode power supplies
- Knowledge of Linux
- Understanding of PCBA production testing methods like ICT and SLT
- Proficiency in Python or LabVIEW
