Join our team! AGF is seeking an Estimator to join our dynamic team based in Markham or Kitchener. Reporting to the Estimating Manager, you will be responsible for taking off reinforcing steel and related products for the purpose of pricing the project, according to bid documents, drawings, and specifications. This position is fully remote following the onboarding period.

About The Role – Your Main Responsibilities Will Include
- Obtain and review complete tender documents to ensure accurate takeoff preparation;
- Perform precise rebar takeoffs and develop detailed, competitive estimates for pricing;
- Provide budget quantities and practical recommendations to support customer project proposals;
- Maintain positive and collaborative communication with the detailing department to ensure alignment;
- Participate actively in pre-tender award meetings, management meetings, and staff meetings;
- Analyze tender documents including specifications, drawings, and addendums to identify project requirements;
- Prepare reliable estimates of cast-in-place concrete reinforcement quantities;
- Review and evaluate tenders, advising the sales team on tendering procedures and best practices;
- Liaise with customers and consultants to clarify project details and ensure estimate accuracy;
- Prepare comprehensive quantity and complexity statements as required;
- Coordinate closely with detailing and project management teams throughout project execution.
About You – The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- Civil Engineering Diploma or Degree;
- Ability to read structural and architectural drawings for all concrete structure categories;
- 2+ years of construction estimating experience;
- 5+ years of overall construction industry experience;
- Ability to visualize structural elements;
- Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports;
- Excellent math skills with strong attention to detail;
- Critical thinking and ability to use independent judgment;
- Ability to work well under pressure and with tight deadlines.
