Description
Key Responsibilities
- Checking the correctness of import documents and contacting the logistics operators
- Working alongside with carriers and sea lines
- Creating the necessary documents in the system for the tea import process
- Cooperation with the saniatry authorities
- Manage customs clearance processes for both import and export shipments.
- Prepare and submit accurate customs documentation in accordance with UK HMRC requirements and all relevant regulations (e.g., UK customs laws, Incoterms, trade agreements, etc.)
- Monitor and track shipments to ensure timely delivery
- Handle tariff classification, valuation, and duty calculations
- Stay up to date with changes in customs laws and procedures post-Brexit
Skills, Knowledge and Proficiency
- At least 2-3 years of professional experience in import/export procedures and documentation in a manufacturing environment on a customs agent position or handling transportation processes
- Familiarity with HMRC systems (e.g., CDS, CHIEF)
- Extensive knowledge of UK customs regulations and procedures
- Fluency in English (both spoken and written)
- Certification in customs or international trade (e.g., UK Customs Academy, CILT)
- Knowledge of post-Brexit trade changes and UK-EU import/export requirements
