Business Development Executive, Field Sales (12 month contract)

Tide is transforming the small business banking market with over 1.6 million members globally across the UK, India, Germany and France.
Key Responsibilities
- Be involved in direct engagement with prospective leads face‑to‑face, either door‑to‑door or at events
- Approach prospects that have downloaded the Tide app but haven’t completed sign‑up, and convert them into full‑fledged members
- Guide potential members through the signup process, answer their questions, and reassure them that Tide is the best solution for their needs
- Highlight and upsell other Tide services and products that could be beneficial to them
- Work closely with the KYC team to ensure members provide the correct documentation and troubleshoot any issues along the way
- Contact existing members to build rapport, understand their businesses, and upsell relevant Tide products and services to help them thrive
- Use your sales and commercial awareness to source your own leads and convert them into active members
- Spend time coaching leads through the setup process, providing 5‑star service as you welcome them to Tide
- Support our partners by onboarding new members from their locations, which can include multiple sites
- Be entirely comfortable with cold calling, emailing, and outreach, and won’t need extensive coaching on this
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a fast‑paced fintech or sales environment
- Previous experience in face‑to‑face sales or telesales, with a proven ability to meet or exceed targets
- Entrepreneurial and self‑starter mentality
- Excellent objection handling skills and the ability to thrive in a target‑oriented environment
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills in English
- Experience with CRM systems like Zendesk or similar tools
- A passion for supporting small businesses and an interest in fintech products
- An ability to manage changing priorities and perform in a fast‑paced environment
- A positive, can‑do attitude with strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently
