Business Development Manager (NPD Consultancy)

Location: Edinburgh (Hybrid)
Salary: £45,000 + Bonus
Contract: Full-time (37.5 hours/week)

A leading UK-based product development consultancy is seeking a proactive and results-oriented Business Development Manager to join its growing commercial team. You\’ll play a key role in expanding market presence, generating leads, and building strong client relationships across the UK.

This role blends strategic thinking with hands-on sales execution. You\’ll represent the company at industry events, develop client relationships, and collaborate with internal technical teams to win high-value consultancy projects.

We\’re open to candidates based in or near Edinburgh (with hybrid working) or fully remote (UK-based) for those with relevant consultancy experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate and qualify B2B leads through LinkedIn, events, and outreach
  • Build brand awareness in new and existing markets
  • Attend and network at key industry events and tradeshows
  • Collaborate with internal technical teams to prepare project proposals
  • Manage CRM and pipeline with strong follow-through
  • Identify relevant sponsorship and membership opportunities
  • Deliver engaging presentations to potential clients

Ideal Candidate

  • Experience in business development or sales
  • Background in Business, Design, Engineering (Mech, Elec, Software) or Life Sciences
  • Experience working with B2B clients in medical, scientific, or commercial sectors
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365, CRM systems, and LinkedIn outreach
