We are excited to offer an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Quantity Surveyor / Employer's Agent to join our clients expanding hotel and leisure team based in Birmingham. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in the hotel or leisure sector and should either have completed their APC or be actively working toward it. A self-motivated individual with their own transport, the ability to travel nationwide, and a proactive approach to working independently will thrive in this role.
As a key member of their team, the Quantity Surveyor or Employers Agent will have the ambition to deliver high-quality, professional services while demonstrating exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Strong client-facing abilities and effective problem-solving skills are essential, along with the capability to offer innovative solutions. You should be a reliable team player who can work with minimal supervision and manage time effectively, all while remaining flexible and adaptable to the needs of the project.
In this role, you will work alongside a dynamic team on new build and refurbishment hotel projects, managing multiple projects from inception to completion. Your responsibilities will include:
- Estimating
- Cost planning
- Value management
- Liaising with clients and the design team
- Attending site meetings
- Answering queries
- Issuing variations
- Cost reporting
You will also ensure that client requirements are met while monitoring site progress and coordinating FF&E orders. You will play a proactive role in managing cost variance, contract cash flow, and ensuring timely and accurate applications. Additionally, you will be responsible for negotiating and agreeing Final Accounts and facilitating a successful and timely Practical Completion.
