Small Works Engineer – Fire & Security Systems (Install / Commissioning) Location: Midlands Salary: Competitive in Industry Trinity are hiring a Works Engineer to join our dedicated team in the Midlands. In the role, you will be providing commissioning and small works of our clients Fire alarm systems. Working within a defined region of the United Kingdom, you will have the opportunity to obtain certifications in industry leading systems including Gent and earn through our engineering commission scheme! The role of Works Engineer You will be working as part of a skilled team of Works Engineer’s and will be supported by our wider support departments to provide high quality service and customer experience. The key tasks include the following: Carry out all necessary works required at customer premises in accordance with the Company’s quality standards. Effectively communicate with customers to ensure a good understanding of system and site status. Liaise with works administrators and other internal stakeholders to ensure our commitments are met. Work to a planned commission and small works schedule. The systems you will work with at Trinity Fire – Gent, Notifier, Advanced CCTV – HikVision, Avigilon, Dahua Intruder – Galaxy, Texecom Access Control – Paxton, Honeywell, Gallagher We are committed to supporting and developing our employees, so if you are interested in the role, please still apply even if your current experience doesn’t match all the Desirables above. What skills do you need? Experience in commissioning and completing small works fire alarm systems to relevant British Standards. Ability to identify all types of cable associated with fire detection systems, and to correctly test and terminate the cable ends in accordance with manufacturers’ instructions. A logical approach to system fault diagnosis and rectification. To always provide outstanding customer service. Excellent verbal and written communication. What technical knowledge do you need? Understand the basic building services to test cause and effect of fire alarm interfaces. A comprehensive understanding of the causes and cures of fire alarm problems, including an ability to recommend changes to practices and processes that may cause false alarms as well as recommending changes to the systems. Basic Electrical Safety training (ECA). Manufacturers training with a minimum requirement of Notifier and Gent equipment in respect of servicing. What will Trinity give you?
