The Role
Due to growth and expansion, we have an exciting career opportunity available within our Scientific Consulting Group for a Senior Director, Modelling and Simulation / Director, Modelling and Simulation. This opportunity will be based at our Nottingham site with flexibility of hybrid working.
Reporting to the VP, Scientific Consulting you will provide leadership for the Modelling and Simulation (M&S) team, managing resources to deliver customer projects meeting time, budget and quality criteria.
You will also drive customer adoption of M&S activities at Quotient, working with the commercial team to promote our scientific capabilities and secure new standalone and integrated programs of work. Assessing and adopting new M&S applications to increase the breadth of our offering to drive growth. Performing hands-on modelling and simulation (M&S) scientific support and input throughout the project lifecycle (design, planning, delivery and reporting) to ensure client’s study objectives are achieved.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Manage M&S team, ensuring availability of sufficient resources and capabilities for delivery of project work to agreed timelines and budget.
- Prioritise activities to achieve agreed annual M&S order and revenue targets.
- Work with the commercial and marketing team to promote Quotient’s M&S service offerings in the marketplace via appropriate channels and materials, including website, factsheet, scientific publications and conference attendance.
- Provide scientific support to effectively communicate Quotient’s M&S capabilities and offerings in customer discussions.
- Perform hands-on PBPK M&S activities to deliver customer projects.
- Produce high quality reports which clearly present and summarise M&S project findings.
These roles in our Scientific Consulting Group are unique to Quotient and are fundamental to our success.
The Candidate
The successful applicant will be degree qualified, ideally with a PhD with significant practice experience in building and applying physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) models across a range of applications, ideally utilising GastroPlus.
Significant experience in biopharmaceutics, PK data analysis and modelling, metabolism and clinical pharmacology with an ability to relate a compound’s in vitro physchem/biopharm/DMPK properties to preclinical and clinical in vivo performance.
