As Shipping Clerk, you will be reporting to the Import Shipping Manager and be responsible for managing the various shipping methods we have (courier, air, sea and road), and apply Incoterms to your daily job. You will have exposure dealing with both external and internal stakeholders and assisting other team members to meet the business needs, which will allow you to continuously learn about our import shipping operations.
This is where you\’ll excel
- Monitoring cockpits and recording details for shipments related to the import of spare parts for Buhler UK.
- Receiving customs clearance requests and giving customs clearance instruction. Especially when it comes to pre-clearance instruction to customs agent related to spare parts for which the shipping has been arranged by Buhler Switzerland.
- Performing operations in SAP and managing the TSS Portal.
- Weekly groupage from Buhler Switzerland – giving information to Eurolink and Fracht, checking the pre-clearance and maintaining delivery date.
- Obtaining POD\’s and keeping the record of it, providing delivery dates and issuing them on request.
- The deferment statements – maintaining duty sheet and sending it to accounts.
- Updating Just do it and monitoring the inbox.
- Undertaking any reasonable activities and projects on an ad hoc basis.
These are the skills you\’ll need
- Ideally 5 GCSE\’s A-C grades including Maths and English or equivalent.
- Demonstrable basic shipping knowledge.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Good understanding of Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Eye for detail.
- Ability to work efficiently independently and in a team.
