Risk & Compliance Executive– Legal Sector
Location: Sheffield (Hybrid/ Office-Based)
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm (35 hours per week)
Salary:£30,000 – £36,000 (DOE)

Our client operates across several legal sectors nationally and has been delivering expert legal services for over 30 years. Their dedicated in-house Risk and Compliance team plays a vital role in ensuring the business meets its legal, regulatory, and ethical obligations – and you could be a part of that team.
The Role:
As a Risk & Compliance Officer, you will support the Compliance Team Manager, COLP, COFA, MLRO/MLCO, and DPO in maintaining and enhancing the company’s regulatory and compliance frameworks. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact from day one in a business that values innovation, inclusivity, and excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Acting as a key point of contact for internal staff on compliance and data protection matters.
Supporting the business in meeting its obligations under the SRA Code of Conduct and wider regulatory frameworks.
Helping to develop and deliver compliance training programs.
Drafting, reviewing, and updating internal policies and procedures to reflect legislative and regulatory updates.
Handling data subject requests (e.g. SARs, Right to Erasure, Rectification).
Supporting investigations into breaches and preparing reports for senior stakeholders and external regulators where appropriate.
Monitoring the impact of changes in law/regulations and implementing necessary actions.
Contributing to internal projects to ensure compliance is embedded in new initiatives.
Maintaining accurate records and analysing compliance trends to mitigate future risk.
Promoting a culture of compliance and supporting internal communications on emerging regulatory issues.
About You:
Experience working in a compliance role within a law firm or similar regulated environment.
Familiarity with SRA regulations, the Data Protection Act 2018, AML regulations, and associated frameworks.
Proven ability to develop policies and procedures aligned to regulatory standards.
Excellent communication, planning, and time-management skills.
A proactive, analytical mindset with a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
Able to work independently, take ownership of tasks and contribute confidently within a team.
