Team Manager – New Roads Hub

Our New Roads hubs place practitioners and relationship-based practice at the heart of what we do. Through Vital Signs, our vision for Children in Norfolk, we work with whole family networks and across the whole system to support families to build on their strengths and to achieve the best possible outcomes. This model brings together a team of specialists through a central hub to provide intensive short-term interventions to prevent entry into care, escalation to long-term care, prevent placement breakdown or facilitate placement step downs.
This is a unique opportunity for a strong leader who has excellent interpersonal skills, can lead, motivate staff and drive change, and who will ensure that young people are at the centre of everything that happens in the home. You will be an excellent problem solver, able to make sound judgments under pressure and respond effectively in a crisis.
Responsibilities
- Provide management support to staff, delivering residential and/or outreach care in accordance with legislation, departmental policies and procedures and county priorities.
- Provide effective management and leadership to the team, ensuring appropriate consultation and advice to enable services to be provided to the department’s standards.
- Supervise, support and manage the performance of the staff team.
- Lead on the ongoing development of the home using feedback from young people and their families, other agencies, and by monitoring all aspects of the home as required by the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015.
- Ensure compliance with legislation, including registration with Ofsted as the Home’s Manager.
Qualifications
- Background in residential care or experience working with children; significant post-qualification experience related to the role.
- Social work or appropriate nursing qualification.
- Willingness to undertake the requirements set out in the National Minimum Standards and to be registered under Ofsted guidelines.
Work Arrangements
This post is predominantly office hours, but candidates must be able to work flexibly to manage the busy logistics of a children’s home. You may be required to participate in the out-of-hours rota and occasionally work weekends, evenings and bank holidays, which may involve sleeping in, depending on service needs.
