The Team

We’re launching a new energy venture and are looking for a dynamic Metering Manager to oversee the creation and execution of smart metering processes for this initiative. This is a rare opportunity to shape the future, build your own team, and play a key role in a high-impact project within New Business & Net Zero.

Work in a hybrid, Flexible First way — typically spending 1–2 days a week in the office. This role may require flexible scheduling to meet job demands, accommodating your needs to ensure a healthy work-life balance.

The Job

Reporting directly to the Head of Operations, this role focuses on delivering reliable smart meter experiences, aligned with the new energy venture’s ethos.

You’ll ensure compliance with industry standards while managing internal teams and third-party providers across all Metering and Data Flows.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and execution of metering activities, leveraging internal capabilities and overseeing third-party providers such as MAM, MOP, and MAP.
  • Manage operational performance across all metering functions.
  • Act as the key liaison with industry bodies regarding metering performance.
  • Drive resolution of errors with a focus on customer outcomes.
  • Lead performance governance, providing reports and insights for decision-making.

Skills and Experience

  • Leadership experience in retail energy metering roles, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Deep understanding of retail energy supply, regulations, and operational processes.
  • Knowledge of supply licence conditions and industry metering requirements, including the Mandatory Half-Hourly Settlement programme.
  • Problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to performance improvement.
  • Passion for innovation and customer solutions.
  • Strong analytical skills and a proactive mindset.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in fast-paced environments.
