Product Manager

£60k | Bonus | T & D

THE COMPANY

Major IT & Digital are proud to be partnering with a leading international business with over 30 years industry experience delivering industrial IT solutions across both manufacturing and infrastructure businesses.

Successfully achieved Investors in People award for the last 12 years and continue to invest in self-development for all internal teams.

Due to the nature of the work involved you will be required to attend customer sites both in the UK and overseas, with occasional working across client offices in the Derbyshire, Greater Manchester and West Midlands locations.

THE ROLE

As part of continued business growth, my client has immediate requirements for an experienced and dynamic Product Manager, instrumental in delivering products to the market and with proven success in overseeing all elements of the product development lifecycle.

Skilled in market analysis and with responsibility for understanding customer needs, gaps in the market, and emerging market trends. The Product Manager is the ‘bridge’ between the market’s needs and the software development team, ensuring that the product roadmap and subsequent software developments meet the customer demands and drive business growth.

THE PERSON

  • At least 5 years commercial experience in a similar product manager capacity, ideally from an industrial IT, engineering or industrial control systems background
  • Drive the product planning processes from design concept of both product and features roadmaps through to development, customer feedback and end of life ensuring timely delivery of product features
  • Analyse customer needs, current market trends, and potential partnerships offerings from a build-vs.-buy perspective
  • Analyse product requirements and develop appropriate user stories for the development team
  • Experienced in delivering product marketing strategies (go-to-market plans) with a commercial understanding of channel based / two-tier partnerships
  • Translate product strategy into detailed requirements for prototyping and final development by engineering teams, including validation of test cases
  • Create product strategy documents that describe business cases, high-level use cases, technical requirements, budget monitoring and return on investment value proposition
  • Manage the product’s cost benefit analysis and measure it’s commercial success
  • Be the product champion within the business by presenting at events (UK and overseas), including promotion of the products within the marketplace
