Are you an aspiring Manager with strong estimating knowledge, sharp technical oversight, and a passion for leading growing teams? I have a vacancy with the UK’s leading independent multi-utility infrastructure specialist – as our Technical Manager, that will help power the future of UK infrastructure.
What You’ll Do
As Technical Manager, you’ll sit above three team leaders (across East, West, and Central regions), overseeing teams of estimators, project coordinators, and multi-utility designers. You’ll be responsible for:
- Approvals: Reviewing and approving technical designs and estimates (not doing the designs yourself)
- Team Oversight: Managing 3 team leaders with approx. 12 team members total
- Risk Management: Ensuring projects are cash-positive and compliant with industry regulations
- Technical Assurance: Supporting PMs and estimators to deliver accurate, compliant, and commercially sound work
- Project Lifecycle: Tracking how long projects remain within the team, ensuring timely delivery
What You Bring
- Strong estimating background – a must-have
- Electrical or multi-utility experience – ideally within an ICP
- Familiarity with gas, electricity, and water connections
- Knowledge of regulations and approval requirements
- Proven ability to lead technical teams
- Able to manage risk and assess project viability
- Comfortable with hybrid work and fast-paced delivery cycles
