Looking for that golden career opportunity?? This fairly new main contractor (4 years old) is growing, so they\’re after someone who can develop & lead their estimating function… Role: Estimator, Design & Build main contractor Location: Fleet, Hampshire Salary: £110k to £120k plus benefits This growing and dynamic design & build main contractor, who deliver high-quality construction projects across the prime residential, commercial, and leisure sectors, are continuing their rapid expansion as they progress through their 4th year since inception. As they\’re part of a larger construction group, they have a strong business behind them with plenty of forward investment. Known for their collaborative approach, attention to detail and ability to self deliver at least 50% of the build within group, they\’ve carved out a niche within main contracting – not solely relying on a supply chain of subcontractors means they have far more control over the build sequences. It allows them to work very closely with their clients, particularly during the key early construction phases. With a strong pipeline of confirmed orders, together with an increasingly healthy level of enquiries/new tenders, they\’re now expanding the preconstruction team and are looking for an experienced Estimator to take a lead in pricing tenders and producing bids. So far, most of the tenders and preconstruction activities have been handled by the commercial and operations director, but shear workload has meant this function needs to strengthen. It means the opportunity could be huge – you\’ll be the first out and out estimator within the business. As the Estimator, you’ll play a key role in the senior team, managing the tender process from start to finish. You’ll help them win new work by preparing accurate, competitive cost estimates for a wide range of prime residential developments, high-end commercial spaces, and premium leisure projects – typically up to around £60m in value. Brief overview * Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for new tenders * Analyse drawings, specifications, and design information * Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain quotations * Develop and manage project cost plans and budgets * Participate in value engineering and risk analysis * Prepare compelling bid submission documents * Attend pre-tender meetings and client briefings * Keep estimating tools, databases, and records up to date About you * Proven experience as an Estimator in a tier one D & B main contractor * Familiarity with projects in prime residential, commercial, or leisure sectors is a strong advantage * Deep understanding of construction processes, materials, and costs * Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Conquest, Causeway, Excel) * Strong communication and negotiation abilities * A proactive mindset and collaborative team spirit If you feel you have the right background, and are happy to work full-time in their Hampshire head office, please apply so we can arrange to discuss this further
