Our client, a top-tier US law firm, is seeking an associate with 2 to 6 years’ PQE to join its growing antitrust litigation practice in London. Led by a highly experienced partner group, the team handles complex competition disputes, including cross-border cartel cases and private enforcement actions, often for major private equity clients and global corporates. The group is fully integrated with the firm’s broader disputes, finance and transactional teams across Europe and the US, offering a strong platform for associates looking to build their career in high-stakes, international litigation.

The Role

The successful candidate will join a London-based team working at the intersection of complex litigation and competition law, with a strong cross-border emphasis. Acting on some of the most high-profile disputes in the market, the team regularly advises on cartel follow-on claims, abuse of dominance disputes, judicial reviews, class actions and cross-jurisdictional enforcement matters.

This is a unique chance to be part of a practice closely aligned with the firm’s renowned private equity, funds and restructuring groups, offering exposure to disputes emerging from high-value transactions, structured finance arrangements and broader commercial conflicts with an antitrust dimension.

Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in competition-related litigation, including damages claims, regulatory appeals and cross-border disputes.
  • Develop and implement litigation strategies in coordination with international teams across Europe and North America.
  • Advise on competition issues arising from transactional, restructuring and financial matters, often working alongside specialists in private equity, tax and finance.
  • Participate in the drafting of pleadings, evidence, and advocacy preparations for high-stakes hearings and trials.
  • Engage with leading clients including global investment firms, corporates and financial institutions.

Requirements

  • England & Wales qualified solicitor.
  • Between 2 and 6 PQE, with demonstrable experience in competition litigation.
  • Strong academic background and excellent analytical skills.
  • Experience handling multi-jurisdictional disputes and working with international teams is highly desirable.
  • Exposure to private enforcement claims, abuse of dominance disputes, or regulatory appeals is advantageous.
  • Comfortable advising sophisticated clients, particularly those in the private equity or financial services sectors.
