Job Description
We are recruiting on behalf of a dental laboratory in Southern Manchester, seeking an experienced Dental Laboratory Manager to lead their team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and organised professional to oversee daily operations, ensure the highest quality standards, and drive the lab’s continued growth in both traditional and digital workflows.
The ideal candidate will bring previous management experience within a dental lab environment, combined with a strong background in CAD/CAM and digital dentistry. You’ll be responsible for coordinating production, managing staff, liaising with clinicians, and ensuring seamless operations from case receipt to delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily laboratory operations, ensuring production schedules are met
- Lead, motivate, and support the technical team to maintain high-quality standards
- Manage workflow, deadlines, and case allocations effectively
- Act as the main point of contact for dentists, specialists, and internal teams
- Implement and maintain efficient digital workflows using CAD/CAM systems
- Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and manage budgets
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and staff training
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Dental Laboratory Manager (or senior leadership role within a lab)
- Strong technical knowledge of dental laboratory processes, ideally with expertise in CAD/CAM systems such as Exocad, 3Shape, or Dental Wings
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Proven ability to manage deadlines and workflow in a fast-paced environment
- Understanding of both traditional and digital dental techniques
- GDC registration preferred but not essential
