Job Description
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Principal Cost Engineer to join a department to assist with forecasting production costs and supporting full lifecycle cost analysis across various business functions.
This role performs the duties of the Principal Cost Engineer and reports to the Manufacturing Cost Engineering Lead.
The successful candidate will have:
• Experience in engineering/manufacturing, with exposure to cost estimating or cost engineering
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and relevant production lifecycle stages
• Responsibility for generating and maintaining business cost forecasting documentation
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to challenge cost data to ensure transparency and robustness
• Capability to support design-to-cost initiatives and work collaboratively with Design, Manufacturing and Bid teams
• Confidence in leading meetings and driving improvements to current forecasting processes
• Effective time management and prioritisation skills, including the ability to coordinate with others
• Self-motivation, resilience, and the ability to influence and negotiate across varying levels within the business
