Job Description
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a reliability engineer to join a forward-thinking department and contribute to the assurance of reliability across a range of technically sophisticated and high-profile products.
This role performs the duties of the Reliability Engineer and reports to the Integrated Logistics Support and Reliability Lead.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage early in the design lifecycle to influence and mitigate reliability risks across systems within their operating context.
- Develop, plan, and execute progressive reliability assurance programmes using a pragmatic and cost-effective approach.
- Deliver formal Reliability Case Reports supported by FMECAs, reliability predictions, and other assurance artefacts.
- Apply a range of methodologies and tools (e.g. FIDES, MIL-HDBK-217) to validate reliability performance.
- Collaborate cross-functionally within multi-disciplinary and international teams to ensure technical coherence.
- Contribute to internal research and development initiatives and support knowledge transfer through graduate and undergraduate mentorship.
- Engage in continuous improvement of the reliability engineering discipline across the organisation.
The successful candidate will have:
- Solid understanding of complex electronic systems and their associated reliability challenges.
- Experience planning and executing reliability activities across the product lifecycle.
- Ability to produce Reliability Case Reports and apply structured analysis methods such as FMECA and reliability prediction tools.
- Working knowledge of the system engineering lifecycle and how reliability integrates within it.
- Strong communication, influencing and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams.
- Analytical mindset with sound problem-solving capabilities.
- Ideally degree-qualified or possessing equivalent professional experience in a relevant engineering discipline.
