Business Engineering is looking for an impact-focused Engineering Manager leading full-stack development. The team is composed of technology experts that apply their software engineering skills to bring a unique blend of business and technology in-depth knowledge to ensure our partners succeed. Our team is at the intersection of business and innovation where you will execute on solving real-world business challenges through Meta’s platforms and community in many of today’s most exciting industries and products. These include Video, Commerce, Monetization, Metaverse, Gaming, Creators, AI, Messaging, Advertising, and more. This is a hands-on role where you will balance delivering production-grade code for Meta, cross-functional leadership, and people management. This role will allow you to apply problem solving, leading, and consulting clients that exceeds the boundaries of what is possible quickly, and at scale. Business Engineering Manager Responsibilities

  1. Manage and scale a talented team by attracting and mentoring people at various levels of experience to grow a productive and impact-oriented team around business/team needs.
  2. Build new products and improve existing ones in collaboration with Meta product engineering teams and cross-functional partners to meet business needs.
  3. Communicate information and context from the company and organization to the team and other stakeholders, influencing the roadmap and product development.
  4. Design and build end-to-end systems and launch-plan strategies.
  5. Bring unique insights of products and technologies and apply knowledge from industry, verticals, and partner segments to fill a void that exists across our platforms.
  6. Partner with appropriate stakeholders to make ongoing program and project decisions, leverage insights from the team, and make recommendations and/or decisions when issues arise.
  7. Use a broad range of technical and soft skills to build productive relationships with our partners, and resolve complex technical and business needs.
  8. Guide workflow changes, and gain consensus from stakeholders while driving toward solutions.
  9. Influence decision-making through presentation of data-centric business topics.
  10. Set clear expectations and goals, and assign projects aligned with team strengths, skills, and motivations, provide guidance, and adjust management style to match the needs of the individual.
  11. Manage team performance, including coaching for career growth.
  12. Lead with care, recognize individual contributions, give and seek timely feedback, ensuring the team is healthy and sustaining productive relationships.
  13. Build and scale the team by identifying skills needed, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new employees.
  14. Conduct code reviews and provide thoughtful, meaningful, and constructive feedback.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. 11+ years of work experience in software engineering, including 4+ years of proven hands-on technical management experience of software engineers.
  2. Experience with designing, building, and iterating on scalable software platforms applications and taking products from a nascent state to a level of maturity.
  3. Experience growing teams and designing organizations to maximize impact.
  4. Experience building software in languages like Python, Objective-C, PHP, C/C++, Ruby, C#, or other programming languages.
  5. Experience building consensus within large cross-functional organizations.
  6. Experience proactively identifying and executing organizational, product improvements across several teams.
  7. Experience in translating technical concepts into language for audiences, including software engineers, business and technical leaders.
  8. B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent degree or experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience managing a team with multiple roles.
  2. Experience working with global teams.
  3. Experience with agile software development methodologies.
  4. Knowledge of the AdTech ecosystem.
  5. Knowledge of the social media landscape globally.
