We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Teaching Assistant for a lovely school in Solihull (B90) to start in January 2025.
The Role
We are looking for an engaging, creative, and nurturing EYFS Teaching Assistant to support young children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (Reception class) in a vibrant and welcoming school. You will play a key role in supporting the class teacher to ensure that children receive a high-quality early years education, in a safe and stimulating environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the class teacher with planning and delivering engaging EYFS lessons and activities.
- Work with small groups or individual children to support their learning and development.
- Support children with special educational needs (SEN), as required.
- Help to create and maintain a stimulating and organised classroom environment.
- Observe and assess children\’s progress and development, providing feedback to the teacher.
- Assist with children\’s personal care and welfare needs.
- Promote positive behaviour, and support the development of social skills.
Key Requirements
- Experience working with children in an EYFS or primary setting.
- A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is preferred.
- A good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum.
- Passion for working with young children and helping them reach their potential.
- Strong communication skills, both with children and colleagues.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A good understanding of safeguarding procedures.
- Experience with SEN or supporting children with additional needs is an advantage.
