We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Engineer to join our client in Blandford on a full-time permanent basis, HALF DAY FRIDAY\’s
The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the continuous operation of machinery and equipment, organise repairs and oversee routine maintenance.
Working with other professionals, the Maintenance Engineer will reduce the incidence of costly breakdowns, improve production facilities and come up with strategies to improve the overall safety and reliability of personnel, plant and production processes.
Hours:- 8AM – 5PM Monday – Thursday 8am – 12.30pm Friday
Responsibilities
- Adhere to daily and weekly checks to ensure smooth operation of site
- Conducting frequent quality checks on equipment to ensure no maintenance is required
- Completing emergency maintenance when equipment breaks down
- Deploy Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule, ensure full preventative maintenance is carried out.
- Keeping a record of preventive and emergency maintenance carried out
- Ensuring the organisation complies with safety regulations while maintenance takes place
- Schedule both internal and external work(s) maximising planned down time and reducing unplanned downtime
- Optimise equipment according to standard procedure, enhancing performance and product quality, ensuring maximum uptime.
- Ensure that designated buildings, plant and facilities are fit for purpose and to provide proactive support/solutions when required
- Support the process of the introduction of new machinery, plant and equipment from drawing up the specification, to managing suppliers through to full installation in collaboration with all relevant parties
- Undertake continuous training and development
- Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems
- Identify business improvement opportunities within the organisation
- Stay current and up to date on any changes that may affect the supply and demand of needed products and materials and advise others of any impact
- Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks in the department
- Manage contractors on site to ensure they meet legal and company requirements
- On-call responsibility, additional £2.5k to salary
Skills
- A time served apprenticeship in Mechanical and Electrical engineering would be considered essential.
- NVQ level 3 4 / BTEC Mechanical Engineer or electrical bias is expected as a min qualification.
- Extended education to HND level in the following subjects would be preferred.
